A Poole Hospice looks set to have earned itself a place in the Guinness Book of Records.
The Lewis Manning Hospice, based in Lilliput, smashed the word sandcastle building record and earned themselves sponsorship cash for their invaluable work. Details have been sent to the Guinness Book of Records, and the hospice are hoping their endeavours will appear in the world famous publication.

Busy making sandcastles - Peter Scott and Perry Jeandren
The fundraising effort was staged at the Sandbanks beach polo arena, where 539 sandcastles were built in just one hour – eclipsing the previously held record by 19.
“Eighty people built the castles,” said Lewis Manning community fund-raiser Louise Trott, who organised the event with fund-raising manager Maria Tidy.
“It was a lovely sunny evening, but there was a brief spell of rain, which made the sand damp and easier to work with.
“It’s the first time Lewis Manning have ever broken a world record,” Ms Trott added. “It was a good way to get us involved in the community.”
Following the sandcastle building record success, a barbecue, in conjunction with Dorset Chamber of Commerce, helped celebrate the achievement.
The final total of sponsorship money gathered for the event is still to be confirmed, but reports are claiming participants in the record shattering event donated £600.
