Southbourne-on-Sea Business Association Official Launch

Recently the traders of Southbourne were invited by the Bournemouth Chamber of Trade and Commerce to attend a meeting with the view of reviving traders’ associations across the borough.

Southbourne had always enjoyed a vibrant traders’ association and to continue the hard work which had already been put into the area, a group of business owners got together to concentrate on the marketing and promotion of Southbourne together with help from the Bournemouth Chamber of Trade and Commerce.

Southbourne-On-Sea Business Association have created a website and produced a map and magazine to help promote the area.  The Association have also rebranded Southbourne as Southbourne-on-Sea, launched back in the summer at an event attended by the Mayor, Cllr Barry Goldbart, local councillors, business leaders and many local traders.

Following on from this initial success, the Southbourne-on-Sea Business Association are holding a drop in next week in Southbourne so local residents and businesses can find out more -

‘DROP IN’ on Wednesday 29th September

This is an opportunity for residents, businesses and visitors to the area to come and pick up the new leaflet, surf the new website and take away a brand new magazine about the area.  Visitors will also be able to ask any questions relating to Southbourne-on-Sea.

The traders association is open to everyone who runs a business within the BH6 area, irrespective of whether or not they have a shop front.  There are many businesses based in Southbourne in people’s homes or in small units.  To encompass all who trade within BH6 it was agreed to rename the traders association Southbourne-On-Sea Business Association.

Co-ordinator of Southbourne-on-Sea Business Association (SoSBA), Heather Martyn of Sugar Mango in Southbourne, said “We are very excited about officially launching the SoSBA map and website.  There are so many great little businesses around the BH6 area, and by working collectively we can make Southbourne-on-Sea a thriving and exciting place for residents, businesses and visitors alike”.
