Two of Bournemouth’s growing SMEs have joined forces to beat the increasing cost of office space.
When financial management company Milburn Finance found new premises that were just a little too big, rather than pass up the opportunity of moving into new offices in the perfect location, it joined forces with new business consultancy White Egret to share the space.
“This is the ideal solution that suits both businesses,” says Lesley Dixon, owner of Milburn Finance. The two businesses now share a 650 sq ft space in purpose-built offices on St Stephen’s Road in the centre of Bournemouth.
Although they work as entirely separate entities, the two companies launched their joint office with a reception on Friday, 1 July.
“We both invited clients, contacts, their friends and associates. There were lots of cakes and sandwiches, not forgetting the Champagne draw and the Pimm’s of course!” says Lesley.
“Everyone made a big fuss of my hearing dog Rufus as well. He thoroughly enjoyed seeing so many of his friends and clearing up the crumbs after the events was over!”
Julie Leigh, who owns White Egret adds: “At one point it was elbow to elbow. It was lovely to see so many people supporting both our businesses and we are really looking forward to a bright future together.”
