The fund will support new and distinct parcels of work, which must have a start and a finish date, a budget as well as specific outcomes and outputs. The last funding round distributed over £153,000 to 43 charities and community groups across Dorset with total number of beneficiaries of 46,773 individuals.

One of the successful groups funded at the first round was Age Concern Christchurch – they received funding towards a project that will identify and help vulnerable and unsupported elderly people living in Christchurch. Volunteers are actively being recruited and trained to provide on-going support such as information and advice on local services, appropriate referrals for medical and community support and acting as advocates when necessary.
