Employees at South Coast law firm Lester Aldridge have voted Cancer Research UK to be the firm’s charity of the year in 2012.
Every year the law firm, which has offices in Bournemouth, Southampton and London, asks staff to vote on a charity which then benefits from the money raised through a raft of fundraising activities, supported by a dedicated team of staff members.
In 2011, over £6,000 (including Gift Aid) was raised for the firm’s chosen charity, NSPCC. Staff undertook numerous fundraising events, from cake sales to parachutes jumps. Three members of staff cycled 100km across the South Downs (in near hurricane conditions) and the marine law team, LA Marine, won the Temple Legal Regatta Yacht race, raising £2,250 for the charity.
Victoria Jones, Partner and member of the LA Fundraising Team, comments: “Having successfully raised more than £6,000 for the NSPCC last year, we are looking forward to another jam-packed year of fundraising to raise vital funds for cancer research, diagnosis and treatment.”
