Bill Chard a Southbourne resident and volunteer for Lewis-Manning Hospice hosted his popular quiz night and raised over £700 for the charity that provides free care to adults with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.
Bill regularly drives patients to their appointments at Lewis-Manning Hospice.
Sara Sheppard, Community Fundraiser at the hospice said: “It’s community events like this that make a huge difference to our charity as we have to raise at least £50,000 each month towards the running costs.”
This year the charity celebrates its 20th anniversary and is set to open a brand new state of the art facility in May to expand its existing day hospice service, lymph oedema and breathlessness clinics. It will also include a 23 bedded unit for respite, rehabilitation and end of life care.
