Weymouth will have to wait until the end of next year before it gets the superfast broadband that had been promised would be live before the start of the Olympics.
BT’s fibre-optic broadband went live on Portland in February after the company announced last September that superfast broadband would be a legacy of the Olympic sailing events.
But it has now said that because of the Olympics work cannot start on extending the service to Weymouth until after the summer and is expected to take more than a year to complete.
