Bring a friend to the Lunar Walk

Mork and Mindy, Captain Kirk and Spock, Hans Solo and Chewbacca; even in outer space all the best things in life come in pairs so Forest Holme Hospice is inviting the public to bring a friend to the Daily Echo-backed Lunar Walk on Saturday September 1.

Entrants who register before Friday August 24 will get their friend’s entry fee half price. All money raised from the Lunar Walk will go to Forest Holme Hospice, which cares for people in Dorset suffering with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses.

By joining in the fancy dress space theme, the midnight ramblers can dress up as their favourite extra-terrestrial to make the walk simply out of this world. Starting at the witching hour from the Dolphin Shopping Centre, walkers will have the choice of participating in the Full Lunar of nine miles or the Half Lunar of four miles.

Diane Platt, charity manager at Forest Holme Hospice, says: “Although fancy dress isn’t compulsory, there are sure to be some fun entrants. We are hoping to build on the success of last year’s walk by doubling the amount raised. If everyone registered brings one friend, we could easily achieve this, so please bring a friend to help people in Dorset ‘Live long and prosper’.”
To register online please go to www.friendsofforestholme.org.uk or call 01202 670644 for a registration form and further information. Entry fees are £15 for adults and £10 for children, and all entrants will receive a free t-shirt, goody bag and medal. Registration closes on Friday August 24.
