Forest Holme Hospice has revealed that the Dolphin Shopping Centre in Poole will be the location of its new vintage-style charity shop.

Set to open on Saturday October 20, The Secret Wardrobe will sell pre-loved vintage clothes, art deco jewellery and shabby-chic furniture. All the proceeds from the store will go to the Poole hospice, which cares for patients with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses.

Diane Platt, charity manager at Forest Holme Hospice, says: “We would like to thank the team at the Dolphin Shopping Centre for their help to realise our plans for a Forest Holme retail outlet. “We are very excited to be starting work on our new shop and are looking forward to filling it with all the fine vintage pieces that we have received from generous members of the public.”

The Big Yellow Self Storage Company on Nuffield Road is still accepting donations of vintage items on behalf of Forest Holme Hospice. Free parking is available for visitors who would like to drop off their donations during the opening hours of 8am-6pm Monday- Friday, 9am-6pm Saturday and 10am-4pm Sunday.

John Grinnell, centre manager of the Dolphin Shopping Centre said: “As our chosen charity of the year, we are delighted to be able to offer our support to Forest Holme Hospice. We feel The Secret Wardrobe has the potential to become quite the destination store for the centre.”

The Poole hospice is currently recruiting volunteers to work within the shop, please call Diane on 01202 670644, email fundraising@friendsofforestholme.org.uk or visit www.friendsofforestholme.org.uk for further information.
