Out of this world walk for Forest Holme

A Poole hospice is urging the public to take one small step for man and one giant leap for mankind by registering for the Lunar Walk on Saturday September 1.

Last year

Starting at the witching hour from the Dolphin Shopping Centre, all money raised from the Lunar Walk will go to Forest Holme Hospice, which cares for people in Dorset suffering with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses.

The midnight ramblers will have the choice of participating in the Full Lunar of nine miles or the Half Lunar of four miles. To make this fun run out of this world, walkers can join in the fancy dress space theme and dress up as their favourite extra-terrestrial.

Diane Platt, charity manager at Forest Holme Hospice, says: “Last year’s Lunar Walk was a great success but this year’s event is shaping up to be otherworldly! We are urging our midnight walkers to ‘boldy go’ in space theme fancy dress to help people in Dorset ‘Live long and prosper’.”

To register online please go to www.friendsofforestholme.org.uk or call 01202 670644 for a registration form and further information. Entry fees are £15 for adults and £10 for children, and all entrants will receive a free t-shirt, goody bag and medal. Registration closes on Friday August 24.
