Sounds of Summer Breeze move to Poole’s Golden Sands

Poole’s Summer Breeze extravaganza moves to Sandbanks from Thursday 2 August as the golden sands at Shore Road become the stage for five fabulous weeks of beach party each Thursday evening throughout August.

Part of the Wave 105′s Summertime in the South events programme, sponsored by Tower Park-based motor dealership Breeze Volkswagen, the FJB Collection and Sandbanks Beach Cafe, Summer Breeze on the Beach sees a sizzling summer line up of activities and entertainment for the whole family to enjoy from 7pm.

Fresh from his triumphant Poole Quay set during the Olympic torch relay, the King returns as Elvis takes to the stage at the Sandbanks Hotel Terrace to serenade the crowds with his greatest hits followed by the cool sounds of Jo Jones. Poole’s fabulous sands will be pulsing to the beat of Summer Breeze favourites Afric Arts with African dance and drumming workshops. Join in, practise those drumming skills and make some noise.

Children will have the chance to learn traditional Maypole dancing with Anonymous Morris, get their faces painted or have a go at creating their own sand sculpture masterpiece. Exercise your funny bone with street comedy and magic from Adrian and Lee or try out your Olympic potential at the turn up and play volleyball.

Top Table Catering will be cooking from their beachside BBQ. Alternatively, enjoy a drink at the Sandbanks Hotel or beat the crowds and experience music and the party atmosphere exclusively from the fabulous Hotel terrace. Tickets are £20 per person and include a delicious meal from the terrace BBQ. For tickets and details contact Sandbanks Hotel tel: 01202 707377. The event concludes with a spectacular fireworks finale at 10pm which can be viewed all along the beach.

Bruce Grant-Braham, Chairman of the Poole Tourism Partnership, said: “Summer Breeze is an essential part of Poole’s fantastic summer events and the glorious sands are the perfect place to soak up the atmosphere. Let the beach party begin!”
