This autumn, over 400 Bournemouth based childcare professionals will come together to celebrate high standards of childcare provision across the region at an industry awards presentation held at the Bournemouth International Centre.
The Annual Early Years Sector Awards, now in its seventh year, is facilitated by Bournemouth Borough Council to engage with childcare providers both in the private and public sector, and commemorate industry excellence.
Supported by national organisations, including the National Childminding Association, National Day Nurseries Association, the Pre School Learning Alliance and 4Children, the awards are sponsored by local businesses including BH Live.
There are nine award categories including ‘Outstanding Ofsted Inspections’, Working with Children with Special Needs and Bournemouth Quality Standards. Over 300 nominations have been received from local parents for the Childcarer of the Year Awards which will be independently assessed and winners will be announced on the evening.
Organiser Michaela Slatford said “It is an honour for us to facilitate this event which celebrates those often unsung individuals who go the extra mile for local children and their families. As a parent, leaving your child in someone else’s care is a massive and often heart wrenching experience. It is therefore reassuring to know that in Bournemouth we have a wealth of quality childcarers who provide excellent care and education for our future generation. We are delighted to be returning to the BIC for this year’s event as have always classed it as our celebratory home and know that we will be very well looked after.”
