PamPurredPets Managing Director Steve Fowler bid £501 to win Peregrine Livefoods Director Dave Perry at the “Dave for a Day” auction, held at the Essex based company’s 25th anniversary celebration. The money raised will help fund Jersey’s Durrell Institute build a new enclosure for the critically endangered Ploughshare Tortoise.
“People are growing ever more fascinated by reptiles and its now estimated that there are more reptiles than dogs kept as pets in the UK,” said Dave Perry, whose company supplies everything required, including the animals, habitat and food, to pet stores. “The market is believed to be worth over £250 million per annum so we believe that we have a responsibility to ensure that as with any pet, potential owners are given good advice to ensure that the animals are kept with the appropriate care.”
Steve Fowler thanked Dave Perry for providing an interesting and educational store visit for the “Dave for a Day” fundraising.
“I know that many of our store visitors enjoyed the chance to experience these fascinating creatures and have Dave on hand to answer a wide range of questions,” said Steve Fowler.
