The Sovereign Shopping Centre, in Boscombe, will be hosting Family Information Days, in conjunction with Bournemouth Council’s Early Years Service, on Thursday 1 November and Thursday 20 December from 10am until 4pm.
The theme of the event on Thursday 1 November is ‘Full of Life – Older People’s Day’, which is aiming to provide information to grandparents, as they are one of the main carers of children. Staff from various organisations will be the Centre, including AgeUK Bournemouth, Dorset Fire and Rescue Services, Bournemouth Children Centres, Help and Care, Dorset Energy Advice Centre and more.
On Thursday 20 December, the event theme will be ‘Experiencing Christmas through Family and Fun’. The event will be looking at ways children can learn with parents through Christmas activities, such as wrapping, sticking, singing and more.
Bournemouth Early Years Service is also offering FREE face painting, provided by Diamond Faces, and children’s activities will be provided by other services.
Julian Sandy, Early Years Community Engagement Officer at Bournemouth Borough Council, said: “We are very excited about the events taking place in the Sovereign Shopping Centre. We hope that lots of local people visit us as we have so much information to give out and assist those that require advice, support or just would like an informal chat.”
