New Young Enterprise Company – Twende

Allow us to introduce our new and innovative Young Enterprise company, Twende. The name alone is important as it means ‘Let’s Go’ in Swahili; a term we are proud to base our ethos on as we are all go, go, go, in the producing of our product! As an up and coming company we are lucky to be backed by two amazing business advisors John and Barry, award winning link teacher Mrs Hayter and wonderful Mrs Simpson.

We are a company comprised of thirteen students from Clayesmore School, Dorset, we each have a different roles. These include, Managing Director, Human Resources, IT, Sales, Marketing, Operations, Finance, Company Secretary and then deputies for each. The dynamics within the group have been exceptional as everyone is excited to get the product off the ground and the company going.

Our formal meetings are on a Tuesday evening in which we go through the minutes from the last meeting and work through our agenda for that meeting. On Wednesday’s we have our production meetings and this is when we churn out our ideas and get the ball rolling.

We are at the exciting, early stage of developing our product and researching our potential markets. At the moment we have come up with an idea to create t-shirts that feature or are made from Kanga; a vibrant, natural African material.  With this idea in mind we hope to donate a percentage of each sale to an African charity.

We are currently setting up a website and look forward to getting our product on to the market, so keep your ear on the ground and look out for us.
