The pet store group PamPurredPets has raised £1,880 for the Dorset-based animal rescue and re-homing charity Waggy Tails.

Thirty-three suppliers and business contacts from the pet trade industry joined PamPurredPets’ founder and managing director Steve Fowler on the annual fun day in August.

After lunch at the Haven Hotel in Sandbanks, the group took to a selection of boats moored off the beach to gain spectacular views of aircraft performing in the Bournemouth Air Festival, whilst participating in a range of water sports. A fundraising auction was then held with members of the charity attending as guests of honour.

When presenting the cheque at Waggy Tails’ headquarters on Ferndown Industrial Estate, Steve Fowler was thanked by the charity’s staff and had the opportunity to meet some of the dogs supported by the charity. These included Dylan the Spaniel who is cared for as a sponsored dog, and Lilly and Bella who are just two of the latest dogs that desperately need a good home.

Steve was also thanked for the additional funds raised by the 64 stores in England and South Wales. Store staff oversee collection tins and donation bins in which dog food is donated to help feed the rescued stray, abandoned and impounded dogs.
